A Storm of Swords - George R.R. Martin

I finally finished dragging myself through a reread of ASoS and annotated almost every single page of 924 pages of text. Ugh. Some things that I learned:

-- GRRM's writing style makes me suspicious of any possible hint of back story or foreshadowing. Literally, any possible hint. "Wind rustling through trees" makes me underline and scribble notes in the margin like a madman.

-- No matter how many times you read it, the Red Wedding will make you sad.

-- The ASoIaF Reddit will have you seeing tinfoil everywhere.

-- I hate the Word of God. I kind of blame J.K. Rowling for that.

-- And screw the criticism that fans obsess over too many of the minute details in the novels. He made us this way! We're paranoid. Death of the Author!

-- "Because reasons" is a logical argument.
